Can Design-Build Work for Your Project?

Presented by Michael Moore, MWH Americas and Rebekah, RG Group

Design-Build in public works projects has grown to 55% of all projects according to ENR. Many owners praise the time and cost savings of design-build in comparison with traditional project delivery. However, owners have also had negative experience with alternative delivery methods when they are not implemented right. This month’s presentation will be co-hosted by the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA). They will present on new legislation that affects the ability of public
agencies to contract design-build and how it is being implemented efficiently. Rebekah Gladson is the past-President of DBIA and campus architect for UC Irvine. She will provide an overview on new legislation and moderate a panel of local owners that have used design-build on water, wastewater and other public works projects. Ms. Gladson is currently managing the $250M design-build of the Ventura County Hospital Wing Replacement. This will definitely be an informative presentation with an experienced panel of local owners to share their perspectives.
